Generations is an All-Inclusive Resort located in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico about 30 minutes from Cancun. The property features a Family Friendly Resort, then an Adult only resort (El Dorado) a short golf cart ride away.
For this to have been my first All Inclusive resort, it was a great experience.
All rooms are ocean view. We upgraded to have a room with a swim up pool on the balcony. I think that this was Carson’s favorite part. The room had a rain shower, a jacuzzi tub, double sinks, a living room, couch that converts to a sofa bed, a king bed, fridge, dining set and two tvs which already had Netflix and Hulu on them.
Being that this is an All Inclusive Resort, all food, drinks and alcoholic beverages were included. The family side of the resort has 5 restaurants. The Chef Market which is buffet style and is open for Breakfast and Lunch, The Palms which is a beachfront restaurant, Habb Indian Cuisine, Jade Asian Cuisine, and Wine Kitchen. There was also room service available for your use as well.
The food was really good. They did their best to try and cover all dietary forms, from vegetarian to vegan etc. Carson’s favorite was the pancakes, cheese quesadillas and their fresh squeezed apple juice.
One of the things I didn’t like was that the adult side has way more restaurants on their side then on the family friendly side.
The Generations Resort has a kid’s club called Eko Kids. Kids ages 4 and up are able to stay there with out their parents. What I love about the Kids Club is that they do scheduled activities with the kids everyday instead of just letting them have free time all day. The do crafts, pirate day, scavenger hunts, bingo, and more. They have do a cooking class with the kids everyday at three. (Must reserve the day before)
The resort has a Fitness Center with just about everything you could need to get a good workout in as well as a state of the art spa for when you need some “ Me Time”. There are volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts as well.
There is also schedule activities throughout the day on the resort like dance lessons, kayak tour, snorkeling, aqua aerobics, Spanish class, movie theater and more.
The resort also does different shows every night. Circus Show, Magic Show, etc. We were able to catch the Fire Show the night before we left.
Pool and Beach:
Down on the main floor, there is a community pool. The pool features a swim up bar which also has kids mocktails. There is also a kiddie pool for the little ones to feel more comfortable.
The beach has hammocks, chairs, and day beds for your use as well. Staff periodically come to the beach to take drink and food orders.
